Description
An emerald cut diamond is a rectangular gemstone with cropped (truncated) corners and long, parallel step-cut facets that create a signature "hall of mirrors" optical effect. • Shape & Facets: Features 57 to 58 linear, stair-step facets (typically 25 on the crown, 32–33 on the pavilion) with a wide, open, flat table. • Proportions: The classic length-to-width ratio ranges from 1.30 to 1.50, with 1.40 considered the ideal balance. • Light Performance: Instead of a scattered brilliant sparkle, it produces quiet flashes of light, emphasizing clarity, structural lines, and lustre over fire. • History: Originally derived from 16th-century emerald cutting techniques to reduce pressure and prevent chipping, it reached peak popularity during the 1920s–1930s. • Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds, sharing the exact crystal structure and hardness. They are not diamond simulants. When it comes to sparkle, both lab-grown and mined diamonds are comparable, displaying the full range of quality characteristics. • This lab grown diamond has been certified.
