Description

A radiant cut diamond is a square or rectangular hybrid stone with trimmed corners and 70 brilliant-style facets that combine bold geometry with intense sparkle. • Key Characteristics: • Design: Created in 1977 by Henry Grossbard, it merges the clean, straight lines of an emerald cut with the fiery brilliance of a round brilliant cut. • Faceting: Features 70 total facets (compared to 57–58 in standard rounds), creating a dynamic "crushed ice" or starburst sparkle pattern. • Corners: Bevelled and cropped corners soften the geometric outline and provide structural durability, reducing the risk of chipping compared to sharp-cornered shapes like the princess cut. • Proportions: • Square ratios: 1.00 to 1.05 • Rectangular ratios: 1.15 to 1.50 (with an ideal classic target around 1.25 to 1.35) • Buying & Performance Tips: • Clarity: The dense faceting pattern excels at camouflaging internal flaws, making VS2 to SI2 clarity grades popular choices that still look eye-clean while saving money. • Colour: Radiant cuts tend to concentrate body colour slightly more than round stones. G–H colour grades work well for white gold or platinum, whereas I–K (or warmer) grades pair nicely with yellow or rose gold. • Settings: Commonly displayed in solitaires, three-stone rings, or halo designs that protect the cropped corners and allow ample light entry. • Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds, sharing the exact crystal structure and hardness. They are not diamond simulants. When it comes to sparkle, both lab-grown and mined diamonds are comparable, displaying the full range of quality characteristics. • This lab grown diamond has been certified.
